In the last few years, teaching evaluations as a quality control process has gained significiance in discourse regarding the politics of higher education and has become a permanent part of quality management. Methods of evaluating instruction include, among others, the universtiy's Teaching Report (Lehrbericht) and student surveys (Studentenbefragungen), which have been conducted at the TU Dresden since 1995, due to a decision of the senate.
