Sprachausbildung TU Dresden
As Europe is incessantly growing together, it
increasingly needs more multilingual citizens who can communicate with each
other without any language barrier. Due to the highly entwined international
economic and scientific relations, foreign languages are considered an
essential key qualification nowadays. In close cooperation with the TU Dresden, TUDIAS
offers a wide range of language classes for students who are in their basic and
main studies. All language classes focus on study-related as well as specific
purposes whose primary aim is the acquisition of the necessary linguistic key
qualifications. About 7,500 students take part in these language
courses which offer 15 different languages including classical Greek, Arabic,
English, Finnish, French, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish,
Spanish, Czech, Chinese and Japanese (for further information on these two
languages consult the East-Asia Centre). Depending on the individual faculty policy and
regulation, some courses offer their students who are in the main studies a
language education with a strong professional focus both as a subsidiary and
mandatory subject (language for specific purposes). Every university student can attend 10 Semesterwochenstunden (SWS) of free
language training, which equals 150 lesson units. Further information regarding
the mandatory language education can be obtained from the individual exam
regulations. The offer is exclusively aimed at students of the TU
Dresden who are in the basic studies |
