Weather in GermanyWeather in GermanyGermany lies in the moderately cool 'west wind zone' between
the Atlantic Ocean and the continental climate of the east.
Great fluctuations in temperature are uncommon. Precipation
occurs all-year-round. In winter, the average temperature
varies from 1.5 degrees celsius in the lowlands and minus 6
degrees in the mountains. The average temperature in July
ranges from 18 degrees celsius in the lowlands and about 20
degrees in the protected valley of the south. Exceptions are
found at the Upper Rhine Valley, with an extremely mild
climate, and Upper Bavaria with a warm alpine southern breeze.
Also the Harz mountains region with its raw winds, cool
summers, and snowy winters constitutes its own unique climate
zone. Additionally it is good to know that flats in Germany may
not be able to be heated that much during winter. According to
the rent law flats in Germany have to be heatable until 21°
degree in minimum. Sometimes the heating system is not able to
make it much warmer than that. |
