In cases of emergency or urgent/life-threatening illnesses call:

Doctors

Your Welcome Center will provide a list of general practitioners and specialized doctors speaking English or other languages. Please ask for it.

If you are sick during the night, on weekends and holidays and need a doctor please call the standby duty: (0351) 19292, some of the staff speak English. Alternatively you may call the central emergency number of the university hospital: (0351) 458 4580. If you need a dentist on weekends and holidays, please call the emergency dental service of the university hospital: (0351) 458 36 70. The eye specialist emergency service you may reach under (0351) 480 18 23 (Municipal clinical centre Friedrichstadt, Entrance Bräuergasse/Seminarstraße), the medical service for ear, nose and throat under (0351) 480 12 21 (Municipal clinical centre Friedrichstadt, Friedrichstraße 41) and the emergency surgical service is available under (0351) 458 2425 (Surgical clinic of the University clinicals centre of the TU Dresden, Fetscherstr. 24).

During the night, on weekends and holidays there is a emergency pharmacy service. Certain pharmacies are open or can be reached by ringing the bell at the door. Since the pharmacy in charge of the emergency service changes, you can either go to any pharmacy in your area, where the current emergency pharmacy is pointed out on the door or find it here.
