Withdrawal
At the end of your study period, you must withdraw from the TU
Dresden, which means that you must de-register from
studies.
To withdraw, please fill in the Application of Withdrawal.
- You can withdraw in advance, e.g. when your departure date
has been determined.
- You can withdraw by mail or come to the Service Point in
the International Office during office hours.
- After successfully withdrawing, you will receive a
confirmation of your withdrawal.
- You will find more information here regarding the legal basis for this
requirement.
Semester Ticket Refund
- If you withdraw during the semester, you can have part of
you paid semester ticket refunded. Applications for a refund
go through Studentenrat (Student
Council).
- Please fill in the Application for a refund and
bring this to the Studentenrat.
Library
- It is imperative that you return all borrowed books and
media to the library.
- Before leaving Dresden, please cancel your membership at
the SLUB.
Residents’ Registration Office
- Before leaving Dresden, please notify the City of Dresden
Einwohnermeldeamt (Residents’
Registration Office) of your departure.
- You can find information about moving within Germany

Health Insurance
- If you obtained a health insurance policy in Germany, you
may need to cancel this as well.
- To cancel your policy, present your confirmation of
withdrawal to your health insurance agency.
