Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Scholarship programme

Erasmus Mundus Action 2 is a mobility programme of the European Union. The objective of the programme is to promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures, to contribute to a better mutual understanding and to enhance the quality of European higher education through improving international higher education cooperation.

Within the frame of the programme cooperations between universities in the European Union and Third-Countries are established that include the exchange of students, doctoral students and scientists. The funded university consortia award scholarships for study / research and / or teaching stays at the involved partner universities.

More specifically, the EM Action 2 aims:

- to enhance the international co-operation capacity of universities in third countries
- to promote co-operation between sending and hosting institutions
- to enable students to benefit linguistically, culturally and educationally from the experience of pursuing academic studies in another country, and to promote EU values
- to improve the transparency and recognition of studies and qualifications, in particular building on the "acquis" and achievements gained of the Bologna process in this area
- to provide good students from vulnerable groups with higher education
- to enhance the skills and qualifications of foreign higher education staff so that they can contribute actively towards improvement of quality
- to build the capacity of the administration and public and private sector by participation of their staff in higher education mobility activities (especially through doctorate and post-doctorate activities)
- to enhance in the medium term the political, cultural, educational and economical links between the European Union and Third-countries

TU Dresden currently is partner in the following EM Action 2 partnerships:

MULTIC – with the Russian Federation
EBWII – (currently no new calls for applications) with Brazil
- OMS – (only for Incomings) with partner universities in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Malaysia, Laos
- ACP II – (only for Incomings and Academic / Administrative staff) with partner universities in Angola, Dominican Republic, East Timor, Cape Verde, Senegal, Mozambique, Cameroon, Madagascar, Kenya, Republic of Congo, Barbados and Fiji

Please note that the participation of TU Dresden in the Erasmus Mundus Action 2-programme depends on the yearly calls for proposal and the approval of the specific project by the European Commission. It can therefore not be guaranteed for several years in advance that scholarships will be available for a specific country.
