General Information

The TU Dresden and its whole TC-system is connected to the Sächsische Verwaltungsnetz - SVN. This is an exclusive regional authority network on IT basis, which is being driven for the Saxony regional gouvernment authority in order to provide the wohle TC- and IT-infrastructure. All regional gouvernments are obliged to connect to the SVN. All demands are coordinated and realised by the Staatsbetrieb Sächsische Informatikdienste (SID). Thus, the TU Dresden has no alternative providers.

The TU Dresden runs an automatic accounting system to collect, analyse and calculate service fees and other fees for exchange calls.
The analysis usually happens quarterly.
The call data acquisition is judicially based on the Service Agreement between TU Dresden and the TU Dresden employee committee in order to run a telecommunications system as well as the Service Agreement in order to run a telecommunications system based on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP-System) inclusive billing. This covers the field of application, performance properties, the call data management agreement and data security.
Since 01.01.2009 private calls via the TC infrastructure are only allowed by the use of [CallingCards]. Within the TC system there is no capturing and analysis of private calls.

Regarding to the newsletter RS D4/3/08 the costs of a service TC-connection to the public network have been recalculated since 01.01.2009. Another point in the newsletter is the resolution of the university leadership from 28.10.2008 regarding the implementation of installation fees and base fees for TC connectons. Thus, since 01.01.2009 one has to pay 26€ for the installation of every new connection and 6€ base fee quarterly for every existing connection to the particular account. Both fees are supposed to support the required TC infrastructure financially and will be deducted together with the service call costs.

Disclosure of single call data

Every facility gets its own bill, on which all service calls are listed per connection. I reasonable cases there is the possibility to belatedly apply for a disclosure of theese call data as single call data sets. This is based on the [Service Agreements] between the TU Dresden and its employee committee. The application has to be sent to the chancellor via the dean (head of department/ group leader). The department of network and communication services in the ZIH arranges an installation appointment ensuring the participation rights of the data security engineer and the employee committee of the TU Dresden.
The application is downloadable here .

Private calls with CallingCards

Since 01.01.2009 private calls must not be accomplished without a CallingCard. This is based on a resolution of the regional gouvernment in order to readjust the handling of private calls regarding the introduction of the 'Sächsisches Verwaltungsnetz (SVN)'. The employees committee aggreed this decision, which lead to the changed Sercive Agreement.

CallingCards is a prepaid-card and can be used with every office phone.

Please mind that you - by using the calling card - confirm a private law agreement with the provider. The TU Dresden is not liable or responsible for those offers.

Every employee is free to choose his own CallingCard provider!

However, regarding the SVN the regional gouvernment affords this offer.
