The Media Center, as a central research, development and service center at the TU Dresden, offers a broad range of services within the university and beyond. The focus lies on supporting the design, implementation and use of media in teaching and research. Our spectrum ranges from the technical consultation on media issues to providing technologies to the support of scientific and educational events.

For external customers and projects the service of the MC are available and cover all areas of audio-visual production, of multi-media learning and teaching support, and can be based upon contract research, consultancy, third party funded project work, and training programs for different target groups.

Just contact us with your idea and we will advise and assist you:

• in the conception, design and evaluation of multimedia teaching and learning applications and their usage scenarios;
  
• when selecting and determing benefits of authoring tools, development environments and learning platforms;
  
• with the development of infrastructure and the development of system concepts;
  
• with information on support and coordination in the application phase;
  
• by participating in a cooperative and know-how network at the TUD, in conjunction with the Saxon universities and partners in the EU;
  
• in the organization of conferences and symposia with representatives from science, economy and society;
  
• during the entire process of project work, including the realization of multimedia teaching and learning opportunities.
  
  

As a research partner our range is marked by the interdisciplinary profile of the media center. Specific state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of multimedia teaching / learning arrangements is focused on the following priorities:

• strategies of organizational integration and reorganization not only of educational organizations;
  
• instructional design to support self-learning to the development and modularization of learning;
  
• cooperative learning in virtual communities, development and deployment of collaborative tools and technologies, the definition of infrastructure and system concepts;
  
• evaluation of multimedia teaching / learning arrangements as well as the implementation and usability evaluation of complex designs.
