International Graduate School (IHI) at ZittauIHI Zittau was founded in 1993 as a tri-national university experiment by the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg (Saxony, Germany), the Silesian Technical University Gliwice (Poland), the Technical University Liberec (Czech Republic), the University of Economy Wrocław (Poland) and the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (Saxony, Germany). Until 2012, the IHI Zittau was an independent university of the Free State of Saxony (Germany). As of January 1, 2013, IHI Zittau is a Central Unit of the TU Dresden. IHI Zittau offers postgraduate study programmes (master’s studies) in the areas of environment, economy and society. Approximately half of the students come from countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and numerous other countries are represented as well, giving IHI Zittau its special, familiar and strongly intercultural character.
