Technical university distance learning
(Dresdener Modell)
Since summer semester 1994, Dresden University of Technology
has
offered students the possibility to study the course mechanical
engineering in correspondence courses. Correspondence courses
exist both as basic regular studies and as supplementary
studies for college graduates.
The teaching contents of correspondence courses are determined
by the departments that are also responsible for lecture
courses.
This guarantees the full equivalence between correspondence
courses and lecture courses and the permeability between both
study models. Knowledge is mainly acquired through self-study.
In run one term three times in each case Friday and Saturday
group consultations and laboratory practical courses in Dresden
are executed.
The selectable courses of studies are determined by the
current offer of the faculty.
