Radiation Protection Office and Central Radionuclide Lab

The Radiation Protection Office is responsible for all kinds of work with sources of ionizing radiation. That includes the handling of:

  • open and sealed radioactive substances and sources,
  • nuclear materials,
  • accelerators,
  • X-ray emitters,
  • sources of stray radiation (electron microscopes etc.)

at TU Dresden including BIOTEC, Medical Faculty, and CRTD.


The Radiation Protection Office manages the

  • Central Source Storage

for both secure storing and experiments with sealed radioactive sources of high activity.


Furthermore, it operates the

a radiochemical laboratory for dealing with open radioactive substances. It is open for all TU personnel for research and educational purposes.
